Our Mission

The economic challenges of the past several years have been quite trying for members of our family, friends and our entire community. Far Northwest Suburban United Way continues to focus our efforts on making all of our communities better communities for everyone to live in. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing caring people to invest in the community where their resources are needed the most.

We can only accomplish that through the generous donations that you make to United Way. Your contribution of time and/or money helps seniors to get the kind of help that they need to live with dignity and pride. Youngsters get activities and guidance to help mature into responsible adults. Children and adults alike can get help to overcome some of life’s most pressing problems.

Part of succeeding in our mission in serving our communities is a strong stewardship of our resources. In that interest, we post here our income tax and financial statements for the last year.

Currently the United Way operates with 13.5% overhead rate, comparable and in most cases lower than other not-for-profit organizations. By keeping our overhead costs down, we are able to invest more donor dollars into the communities and programs that need it most.
