Brandon Picchioni is a middle market commercial banker for JPMorgan Chase in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs. He’s also putting his financial expertise to further good use by serving as treasurer on the Far Northwest Suburban United Way board of directors. This volunteer position, to which he was elected, keeps Brandon focused on United Way fundraising efforts, finding new streams of funding to help people become independent and maintaining relationships with current United Way donors and supporters.
Brandon has been a United Way volunteer for about two years, moving from volunteer to board member and now to board treasurer.
“Chase has been a strong supporter of United Way so it was easy for me to get involved in the work United Way does,” said Brandon. “I’ve met people in my community I wouldn’t otherwise know and I feel I’m making a real difference in the lives of people who need my help.”
JPMorgan Chase runs an annual United Way campaign, employees participate in volunteer projects at United Way agency partners throughout the year and Amy Fahey, president of Illinois and Wisconsin Middle Market at JPMorgan Chase serves on the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago board. This year, JP Morgan placed 16th on the list of Top 25 Corporate Citizens of Metropolitan Chicago. The Corporate Citizen Awards honor companies and their employees for contributing the most financial support to United Way through corporate and employee donations and special events.
“United Way has an outstanding reputation for helping communities and people, but what’s most rewarding for me is that I am able to remain focused on the community where I live and work and where many of my customers live and work.”
Additionally, Brandon volunteered his time to conduct agency site visits to ensure continuous quality of service among the programs that receive United Way support.
”This experience opened my eyes to the needs that exist in my own neighborhood and exposed me to some of the most inspiring people advancing the common good in communities around me,” Brandon said.
“Sometimes the issues in our own communities are difficult to see if they don’t affect you directly,” said Brandon. “But through volunteerism, I’ve come to understand many of the challenges people face. I see first hand what others in my community are going through and I do my best to help. I’ve also met some extraordinary people who lead busy lives yet give of their time and energy so freely. It’s inspiring.”
Brandon LIVES UNITED by volunteering in his community and advocating for solutions that will improve the lives of people in his community. Brandon is a native of Montana, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and currently resides in Des Plaines with his wife Kristi.
