The Community Resource Specialist works with the Executive Director and Board members to further the mission and vision of the Hanover Township Mental Health Board with the primary responsibility of providing outreach into the community to identify gaps in services available to township residents related to mental health, developmental disabilities and addictions, and developing systems to address the same.

Duties:

  1. Design and implement research and outreach activities to bring forward potential mental health resources available to the residents of Hanover Township for possible funding through the Hanover Township Mental Health Board.
  2. Design and coordinate a series of community education programs to be offered to township residents.
  3. Work with Director and Board members to develop and implement an ongoing community needs assessment process related to mental health issues.
  4. Work with Director in conducting focus groups related to the TIDE (Transportation keeps People with Disabilities Employed) program, monitoring delivery of program services and evaluating the effectiveness of the TIDE program. Potential activities would including outreach to agencies and organizations, Employers, and TIDE Planning Partners.
  5. General Outreach Activities that include but are not limited to:
    1. Participation and attendance at community events as a representative of the Hanover Township Mental Health Board
    2. Maintaining current information related to Mental Health Board activities on the Hanover Township Website
    3. Working with Director and Board on PR activities such as newsletter articles, press releases and other activities
  6. Assisting the Director in auditing and monitoring agencies that provide services to township residents.
  7. Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a human services related or public relations related field. Background in community outreach, program design and development, as well as public speaking experience desired. Bilingual (English-Spanish) abilities preferred.
