At the end of October, representatives from Shelter, Inc.’s Jennings Home received donations of food pantry items from the residents of Parkway Realty’s Schaumburg properties, Paccar Financial, and their employees. This is only the first part of a two-part drive - in November they will be collecting hygiene items for the Jennings Home.

The Jennings Home for Girls, located in Schaumburg, provides emergency shelter for girls, ages 11 to 17, who are in need of a safe haven in times of family crisis.

Since Shelter, Inc.’s inception in 1975, they have been providing safe and stabilizing environments for adolescents in crisis. Shelter’s group home program allows clients to stay in school and continue to grow and learn life skills while being supported through tough times.

A group of employees from JC Penney took part in the United Way’s Day of Caring program and volunteered today at Aunt Martha’s Youth Service Center. Sporting bright United Way t-shirts, the volunteers tackled several crowded storage areas in an effort to turn them into usable space for the center’s expanding programs. Volunteers helped create several new offices and counseling spaces. Continuing United Way’s mission of fostering partnership between Partner Agencies, staff and volunteers connected Aunt Martha’s unused furniture with agencies who can put it back into service.

Pictures coming soon!
